Inspiration: Clitheroe, the Courtyard
I would like to share with you my latest work and show you stages of its making.

In the town of Clitheroe, there exists a concealed courtyard accessible through an inconspicuous doorway off the main street.
Upon wandering through it once, I was astounded by the unexpected beauty that unfolded before my eyes: a lamp and the charming courtyard. I could swear I had never seen them before, at least not in this particular light, with this unique texture, or in these vivid colours.
The urge to transfer the view onto a canvas persistently follows me, impatiently emerging in my mind where the painting process has already begun. I find myself needing to take thousands of pictures!
Facing an empty, white canvas is the scariest thing. But not for long… soon, coloured pencil scratches begin to bring the outlines of shapes and indicate the colours I’ll use.
Then come the inks. I adore using inks for their remarkable brilliance in colour, something that acrylics could never provide me.
After that, the enamel… in a variety of colours! The beauty of enamel lies in the lines that allow me to emphasize important details, like light streaks on the edge of a windowsill or the pattern of bricks or slates in the shadows. It transforms the picture into something surreal, almost magical: precisely what I had envisioned – the real and unreal, harmoniously blended to bring joy, happiness, and excitement.
